The “Ölberg Wöllstein” nature reserve is approximately 3.8 hectares in size and was designated as such in 1983. The purpose of the protection is to preserve a species-rich dry grassland community as a location for rare plant species and plant communities and as a habitat for the typical and rare animal species associated with it, as well as to preserve the area for scientific reasons.

Opening times for the "Alte Ölmühle" in Wöllstein and many other wine taverns can be found at www.rheinhessen.de. I haven't been there myself, but several friends have told me that it's a good place to go.

The next table of wine, the next exciting view. It is not for nothing that these long tables are in very special places in Rheinhessen. This time on the Hiwweltour Eichelberg. A little more rural but no less beautiful is the view of Neu-Bamberg in Rheinhessen Schweiz. The castle ruins are enthroned above the town and the Ajax Tower is in the immediate vicinity – a small vineyard tower with a sad and romantic history.

The clock tower, which is a listed building, is the landmark of the municipality of Neu-Bamberg. It was once one of the three gates of the city fortifications. The village owes its existence to the New Baumburg (Novo Boinburc), which was founded in 1253 by the Raugrafs and whose ruins still characterize the townscape today.
