St. George's Chapel, a simple brick building with late Gothic fish-bubble tracery in the windows, stands in the outbuildings of Vischering Castle in Lüdinghausen. The tiled gable roof supports a ridge turret. The chapel was consecrated in 1495 and still contains the original altarpiece. This altar has neither a reredos nor any other structures. On it stands a rectangular tabernacle, whose doors are painted in the Nazarene style, and a stone candlestick. Above it, on the altar wall, hangs an epitaph in Renaissance form, almost as wide as the altar. It commemorates the hereditary dregs Heidenreich Droste zu Vischering, who died in 1588, and depicts a crucifixion framed by coats of arms. An reredos, evidently belonging to the altar and featuring characteristic neo-Gothic features and embossed frescoes, is located on the right side below the window. The richly decorated Flemish chandelier on the wooden flat ceiling dates to the 17th century.
