There is a lot of art to discover around it, which we really liked! This train station with a café, great bike and free car parking, a friendly café and a vintage train carriage exudes a lot of charm and is still a completely normal "functioning train station". A great showcase for Billerbeck 🔝🔝🔝

The episcopal main court in Billerbeck, first mentioned in 1217, was the seat of the Billerbeck office. The court was expanded into a state castle around 1445 and was destroyed shortly afterwards by troops of the Count of Steinfurt during the Münster Stiftsfehde. The Kolvenburg House was built in the 13th century by the Knights of Billerbeck. The castle has only been called "Kolvenburg" since the 16th century; before that it was called "Voetshues" and "Burg Overwater". In the 14th century the castle fell to the eponymous Colve family. The Kolvenburg has belonged to the Barons of Twickel zu Hameren since 1892/93. It has been leased to the Coesfeld district since 1966.
