The real highlight is probably the small, secluded path through the woods along the Lippe River. You don't often get this close to this beautiful river!

Lovely ponds full of duckweed... The numerous ducks love it! Extremely photogenic in the sunlight.

Here you'll find a small parking area, ideal for hikers. The Lippe meadows are perfect for a stroll, and the charming Hovestadt Castle is just a short walk away. If you head towards Herzfeld instead, you can admire St. Ida's Basilica and are spoiled for choice when it comes to places to eat and drink.

If you are nearby, it is worth taking the path behind the castle. The path is much more pleasant and beautiful to drive. From here you have a good view of the Hovestadt moated castle from the back. The alternative would be the road, but there is a lot of noise and traffic there, even at weekends. The view is also rather poor.

Here you are in the center of Lippborg, the ideal starting point to start your bike tour. There is a large, free car park in the immediate vicinity. I would definitely recommend starting from here for anyone arriving by car.
