The Council Fountain, designed by Josef Rikus, is intended to represent life in a medieval town due to its asymmetry.

In the pedestrian zone, at a prominent location where a former Dominican monastery once stood, there is a sculpture made of stainless steel. This sculpture was erected here by the artist Richard Cox in 2002. The artist called it "Encounter".

The half-timbered house *Im Wilden Mann* is one of the oldest half-timbered houses in Soest. The stately, four-storey building consists of two different sized parts of the house, which are unified by a double gable front. In the 17th century, the two floors were walled in with new walls. The construction of the storage floors above and the roof were largely preserved. In the second half of the 19th century, a comprehensive and far-reaching renovation was carried out. The building has served as the traditional restaurant Im wilden Mann since around 1855.

"Im wilden Mann" has had a varied history. The current operator has things under control. The service was quick and attentive. The food came quickly and tasted excellent. Overall, a successful dinner at reasonable prices. There is no annoying traffic!
