The restaurant is permanently closed but there is a shop and free to use kitchen. The sauna must have one of the best views in Sweden.

Not far from the Mulfjället summit, this simple rest cabin is open to the public. Here, you can take a break in bad weather—and, in good conditions, enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the mountains and all the way to Norway.

At the Ristafallet campsite in Järpen you can stay right next to the magnificent Ristafall. There are small cabins and slightly more luxurious apartments, caravan and motorhome pitches and also space for people who just want to camp here with a tent. The campsite has thirty pitches, most with electricity. It is open all year round and is only closed from October 15th to December 25th. There are several hiking trails that start or pass here. For example, the St. Olavs Trail, which runs through the camping area, is a very nice, easy trail for multi-day hikes because there are plenty of overnight accommodations along the route.

The campsite is right by the waterfall. Hikers who don't like steady noise should rather choose another place.

From what I've heard, Swedes come up here specifically for the good food.

if you come from the south, after several STF Stugas, you will now find the first serviced station. It consists of several buildings, the largest of which houses the reception, the café and the hospitality area. There is a sauna and drying room, and several huts have their own kitchens for self-catering. From the station you have - provided you have a good view - a great view of the Helags Glacier, which is also a reason to book more than one overnight stay here. Many hikers come here specifically to climb the Helags Glacier. This can be done in a few hours. That's why the station is often fully booked. Advance booking is therefore advisable.
