not too much traffic but plenty of rolling hills and nice lakeside views, okay asphalt but watch out for the bridges, lengthwise gaps at the joints at a concrete bridge, and the wooden deck at another bridge can get slippery when wet

pretty good bike path mostly next to the former highway, a section in the middle follows the motorway instead (and nope, not the least bit peaceful in general), nice views of lake Kivijärvi from high atop the thing at one point (but would by no means call this a scenic route in general) towards Lappeenranta the former highway continues without a bike path, perfectly rideable if a bit boring, towards Kouvola your choices are a series of gravel roads next to the railway (starting with Okkolantie, have to switch sides a few times) or braving the busy highway traffic (would not recommend)

typical bike path running alongside the current and former highway 13, mainly useful for access to/from the road to Lemi (would not recommend continuing on the highway itself)

the official bike route to Taipalsaari goes through here for some reason, no idea why, the path next to rt 408 is better (would ride on the roadway if going this way)

segregated path of varying standards (and vintages) with few interactions with cars (and bikes actually have the right of way where it crosses the street in the east)
