The Valkmusa National Park, established in 1996, is best known for its unique moorland landscape, as seen here. It is home to various bird species, including the crane, osprey, redshank, ptarmigan, and wood bunting. Additionally, migratory birds use the national park as a resting area.

A path about one kilometer long leads from Kukuljärvi to this large cave. The name of the cave goes back to the cowherd Jaakko Branni. After the narrow entrance, you can enter the cave, which is about five meters long.

This shelter, called "laavu" in Finnish, is located at a slightly elevated position above Lake Kukuljärvi. The wooden hut is open to the lake and has a covered fireplace. A wonderful place for a rest!

The Moronvuori Day-Use Hut is located along the Moronvuori Hill Trail in Valkmusa National Park. The hut is available for daytime use as a resting spot. Inside, you will find a wood-burning stove and a supply of dry firewood. Additionally, there is a fire pit in front of the hut.

The Santalahti Nature Trail takes you along narrow paths through a dense forest and then to the open, rocky coast. The view of the sea and the countless small islands is beautiful. However, you should be careful when walking on the rocks, as they can be steep in places and drop sharply into the cold water.

This wooden boardwalk, that is typical for the Finnish country side, leads you through the swamp – but with dry feet!
