This is a very beautiful place and nice camping area, surrounded by wild nature. You can stop here to take a break.

You find yourself in Jyränkö, a quiet district of Heinola where time seems to slow down. The river flows gently nearby, and small, well-kept houses line peaceful streets. Here, nature and simplicity go hand in hand.

This shelter is a great spot to rest or spend the night. You’ll find a covered lean-to with wooden floors, benches, and a fireplace with a grill. There’s also a separate hut with a table and a brick stove for more sheltered meals. Bring your own firewood, and pack out all your trash.

This forest road is narrow, slightly uneven, and best suited for a gravel or mountain bike. Expect soft patches, roots, and lingering snow in early spring. Lower your tire pressure a bit and keep your weight balanced.

Kalmarinranta is a well-equipped beach and recreational area near Vääksy, considered one of the best sandy beaches in Southern Finland. Located on the shore of Lake Vesijärvi, it’s ideal for families and active visitors, with facilities including playgrounds, toilets, summer kiosks, and nearby sports fields. The beach has shallow water perfect for children, and activities like beach volleyball, tennis, and frisbee golf are easily accessible. Cyclists can reach the area via Kalmarintie and enjoy a relaxed break with plenty of space to rest. It’s especially lively in August during the Anianpelto fair.
