Nice shelter near lake.

Pitkäjärvi is a serene stretch of water nestled in the Finnish landscape, surrounded by dense pine and birch forests. Its calm surface mirrors the sky, offering a perfect escape for nature lovers seeking quiet. Close to this point, you can also find a small shelter to enjoy Finland’s wilderness.

Discover the Pilpasuo Nature Trail, a highlight near Oulu that brings you closer to nature in a unique way! The trail leads through a 3,000-year-old coastal bog and impresses with its diverse fauna and flora – including rare bird species and flowering bog plants such as pink rosemary heath. Along the trail, you'll also find two campfire sites and well-preserved wooden walkways, ensuring a pleasant hiking experience through marshy sections.

Very nice place located right next to a large open space/swamp. There was plenty of firewood when we were here in May. We also found some barbecue skewers. The shelter can accommodate about 4 people close together to sleep overnight.

The fire watchtower is the seat of the fire watchmen in summer. During the day they watch the forest from above and look out for smoke or other signs of fire. The tower is not open to the public.

Really nice place for grilling sausages and Marshmallows. Offers a beautifully and peaceful view on the lake. So don’t forget them and have lighters with you.

Here you can light a fire, grill some sausages and even spend the night, if you feel like it.

Very nice little round of about 1km. It is the small part of a larger circuit (9km), well signposted. We only walked the short distance because it was raining very, very much. Definitely take anti-mosquito spray with you: otherwise they will eat you up ...
