This stop on the Ecopista is important because it also marks the start of a beautiful walking trail 👣👣 PR18 - VildeMoinhos and its stories (VIS)🇵🇹. In fact, the trail begins a little earlier, in the large parking lot near the intersection between Dão Ecopista and Quinta Belém. It begins by crossing the public gardens before entering the Ecopista, a common pedestrian and cycling path. Follow this eco-trail for 1,400 meters until turning left at Santarinho. Rossio is the central square in Viseu and the starting point for an exciting walk through the city. Several streets branch off from here. It is worth discovering the sixteenth-century houses, which still have Gothic gargoyles and windows.

The imposing portal invites you to enter the church. Inside is an impressive collection of Rococo-style polychrome and gilded woodcarving altarpieces, as well as tile paintings depicting the life of São Francisco and a precious 18th-century organ. The building, with sober lines and white walls, as well as stone-framed doors and windows, rises almost majestically. Inside you can admire a wrought iron chandelier by Arnaldo Malho, a wooden work by Mestre António Loureiro in the Salão Nobre, multi-coloured tile paintings along the stairs and the ceiling painting by the Viseu-born painter José de Almeida e Silva.
