This restaurant is no longer in business. What a shame!

The Old Post Office now houses the Hotel Anklamer Hof with a good restaurant.

We stayed one night at the hotel to start our tour around the prison. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast. The bikes could be stored in a locked garage.

The Lion Monument was erected in the park to honor the fallen soldiers of both World Wars.

On the stone it is written: "Enjoy this place of relaxation. Preserve and care for it, as a blessing to future generations!" Many more people should take this saying to heart, especially those who leave their garbage everywhere and think that it will clean itself up...

From the bike and footpath, which runs parallel to the bypass road, you always have a beautiful view of the renatured Peene and its feathered visitors.

Until 2000, old prefabricated buildings still stood on the market square. By 2018, excavations had secured the foundations of the old town hall, which was located in the middle of the square. The prefabricated buildings were demolished and replaced by typical market buildings. The market square has inscriptions in the ground that reflect the history of Anklam and the Greifenbrunnen was placed in the middle of the square. Over the last 20 years, the market square has developed into a very beautiful central square!

Doors and "windows" were painted and imitate a historic shop.
