Casa da Ínsua is a remarkable 18th-century Baroque palace located in Penalva do Castelo, near Viseu, famous for its magnificent gardens (French and English), its production of Dão wine, and its history linked to Brazil. It is currently a charming Parador hotel offering wine tourism, rural experiences, and a museum on the life of its builder, Luís de Albuquerque. The Rio Dão rises in the Serra da Estrela (mountainous region of Portugal) about 2 km northwest of the town of Aguiar da Beira at about 900 m. It flows out after approx. 92 km into the reservoir of the Aguieira dam and then it merges into the Rio Mondego.

Usually open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The pilgrimage site has its origins in the time when Al-Mancor killed many nuns on his campaign in 982. Some managed to escape and hid a statue of the Madonna under a huge rock. Only 515 years later did a shepherd girl discover the Madonna and bring her home. However, the mother threw her into the fire and the girl, who had never been able to speak since birth, suddenly found her voice, protested loudly and took the Madonna out of the fire again. Subsequently, Lapa developed into a place of pilgrimage. Lapa and Santiago were once the two most important pilgrimage sites on the Iberian Peninsula.

The Igreja da Misericórdia is a wonderfully beautiful church from the 18th century I can only recommend a visit from the inside.
