Constantino Palha Municipal Park is one of the main tourist attractions in Vila Franca de Xira, located next to the train station and the Tagus River. It occupies an area of 400 meters in front of the river and is considered the most charismatic garden in the city. Highlights: - Bandstand: a 19th-century bandstand is one of the park's main attractions, where cultural events frequently take place. - Lakes: the lakes are a characteristic element of the garden, adding a touch of serenity to the environment. - Playground: a fun area for children, making it a popular destination for families. - Cafeteria: offers a cozy place to relax and enjoy the river view. - Paths: the winding paths allow visitors to take pleasant walks through the garden, enjoying nature and the view of the Tagus River.

Using only the natural power of the wind as the driving force, the heavy millstones are moved, and for example, grain kernels are ground into flour (grain mills) or olives are pressed into oil (oil mills). Miguel de Cervantes (1547 to 1616) also created a literary monument to the ancient tradition of windmills: the most famous character of the author, considered Spain's national poet, whose work can certainly be appreciated as world literature: "Don Quixote," also known as the "Knight of the Sorrowful Countenance." He is always accompanied by his loyal squire Sancho Panza, and in one of the highly imaginatively narrated episodes, he engages in a – naturally hopeless – battle against windmills, in which he believes he recognizes four-armed giants.

The road is a firm dirt road with no technical difficulties. It is good for beginners or those looking for a relaxed ride, but requires caution if there is active agricultural work in the fields.

Flat and exposed stretch, with good views over the agricultural landscape of the area. Depending on the time of year, the fields may be covered in wheat, sunflowers or fallow. It is common to come across tractors or agricultural machinery - pay extra attention on these days. Ideal for cycling slowly, observing and, if it is late afternoon, enjoying the golden light.
