The Aqueduto da Usseira, also known as the Aqueduct of Óbidos, was built during the Age of Discovery in Portugal on the orders of Queen Catherine. It was built between 1571 and 1575 to alleviate the water shortage in the walled city of Óbidos. The aqueduct played a crucial role in supplying the city with clean water from the springs in Usseira, about three kilometers away.
