The artists Albert Dedden and Paul Keizer (the Space Cowboys) created the blue dog with a lampshade in its mouth. That refers to homeliness: a ruthless dog waiting for you at home. The church tower of Miedum (Johannestoren) is 4.72 degrees (angle of inclination) out of plumb. This means that the 14-metre-high tower leans over a meter and is the most skewed tower in the Netherlands. The tower is even leaner than the tower of Pisa. You have to pay attention, because you will pass the tower in no time. The tower is difficult to see, especially when the trees are in leaf. Access to the tower is closed by a gate, but you can easily pass here on foot. Next to the tower are also several works of art by sculptors.
