This path is indeed no longer accessible from the Kootwijkerweg. At least not with a standard bike. Not known/checked whether it is allowed to cycle there. Then it may be possible to do with a gravel/mountain bike.

The observation tower "De Zandloper," which roughly translates to "Egg Hourglass," was built in 2017 and is 13.5 meters high. It weighs 17,000 kg. A wonderful place to get a better impression of the scale of the Kootwijkerzand nature reserve from above.

A relatively new modern watchtower built by military personnel, which, with its rusty character, blends nicely into the landscape and from the top gives a beautiful view over the Kootwijkerzand sand drift.

A literal and figurative highlight, this lookout tower on the edge of the Kootwijkerzand. Although often a relatively busy spot, the view from the top offers a wonderful sense of tranquility, with vistas stretching all the way to Radio Kootwijk in the distance.

Beautiful cycle path between Kootwijk and Garderen. Quite narrow and curvy, but (because of that) nice cycling!
