Sometimes it's nice to receive support in your life. Perhaps this tree too! The saying "Een steendragen" (to contribute a stone) is a Dutch expression that means to help out with something, to make a (small) contribution to a project, goal, or situation, whether in time, money, or effort, to help realize or improve it. It comes from literally laying a brick for a building project, but is now used figuratively.

These trees hugging, embracing, kissing each other reminded me of Klimt. But then, they originated from nature. The Kiss is a painting created by the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt between 1907 and 1908. The painting became world-famous during the flower power era and has since been frequently depicted on postcards and posters. The painting depicts a large man kissing a woman on the cheek.

Some trees are real woodpecker trees! Dead, full of holes! Normally, the black woodpecker can be heard from far away. But this time it was busy. I've never been able to see a black woodpecker up close like this before. Who knows, maybe you'll see a woodpecker in this woodpecker tree someday!
