It is a beautiful, wooded area located along the banks of the Waal. Containing two special buildings, Waardenburg Castle and Huis Neerijnen. Both with a moat and Huis Neerijnen even with a drawbridge and a coach house. And of course with beautiful stories. More information: mijngelderland.nl

Beautiful area with many birds. Currently very wet and parts of the walking path are closed. Strolling along the Maas is fun, but now it is swampy.

Besides Amelisweerd and Neerijnen - Waardenburg, it is one of the few estates in the Netherlands with a substantial forest area on fertile river clay. It has been used for agriculture almost everywhere. In addition to tall older oaks and (partly red) beech, the strong rejuvenation with ash is striking. In the past, the elm also had a large share in the forest: the beautiful long elm trunks yielded significant amounts of money.
