In Holland, I often miss at least some English explanation of interesting points. But it was nice to see.

This cemetery is located directly at the mouth of the Ems River and is the remains of the village of Oterdum, which was demolished in the 1960s and 1970s. The village had to make way for the widening of the embankment at the mouth of the Ems. On a website dedicated to the commemoration of the village, sketches of what it once looked like can be seen. Termunten is a small Dutch coastal town, with its district Termunterzijl. The two towns are interspersed with settlements. The church is located in Termunten, and the dike lock, also called a sluice (Dutch: Zijl), was built in Termunterzijl. From the dike in Termunterzijl, you can see as far as Emden (Germany). The island of Borkum can also be seen on clear days. You can also observe the shipping traffic.
