At the edge of the forest, you pass the St. Lambertus Chapel, built in 1845. From around 1350, a hall church stood here, which collapsed in 1830. The land from the Meuse River, from which this church was built, was used to build a small chapel in 1845. A larger brick chapel was added in 1896.

De Keverberg Castle is the beating heart of the town. Rebuilt from ruins a few years ago, it is now the most modern castle in the Netherlands. 👌

Hanssum is a hamlet in the municipality of Leudal in the Dutch province of Limburg. Before the municipal reorganizations in 2007, it belonged to the municipality of Roggel and Neer and before 1991 to Neer. Officially, the hamlet is considered part of the village area of Neer. It is located on the Maas, about half a kilometer east of the village center of Neer, opposite Rijkel. A ferry for cyclists and pedestrians sails between Hanssum and Rijkel. Hanssum has approximately 73 houses. There is a marina of WSV Hanssum and the Soerendonck industrial estate. The Neerbeek flows into the Maas here. This stream separates the hamlet into Groot-Hanssum on the left bank and Klein-Hanssum on the right bank. In Hanssum, at house number 40b, is the former brewery ’t Anker, which was in operation from 1850 to 1986. The building has been designated as a municipal monument. Source: Wikipedia
