A very beautiful hiking trail.

The Wümmetal is impressively hilly. The course of the river is accompanied by a slightly elevated path, which is also part of the marked north path. The path follows the outskirts of Scheeßel on the right.

The local history museum was painstakingly put together from various old buildings in the region. As a result, many buildings actually consist of different parts of houses that were previously very dilapidated and were thus saved. They also sometimes changed their function, so that in the end the site offers an atmospheric overall picture of a complete courtyard. The site is open all year round and can be explored. The interiors are tied to the opening times of the local history museum.

Here you will find many old buildings and the associated information boards. Take your time and go back in time.

The rural living and working world of the 19th and early 20th centuries is depicted on the homestead grounds. In historical buildings that have been rebuilt here, you can experience how people lived and worked on a farm with a Low German hall house more than a hundred years ago. The bakery, honey store, sheepfold and wattle barn were among the typical outbuildings of such a farm.
