The national park is definitely worth a visit! Forests, dunes, heathlands and lots of animals to watch! If you are lucky, you can watch buffalo and even bison in addition to the many different birds.

Duinmeer 't Wed is a wonderful seaside resort. The beach is also a nice playground and there is a sanitary block. The dead trees at the top of the sandhill are petrified oaks. They have dried up because there is no vegetation on the sand. This prevents the soil from retaining water for the trees. Because the roots of the trees are so deep, they still stand upright and petrify over time.
