The church is a remnant of a 15th century church that was modified in the 17th century. The tower can be climbed with a beautiful view from the tower transept as a reward. The Protestant Church of Oostkapelle towers over all the buildings in the village and can be seen from afar. There was already a church in Oostkapelle before 1067. The current church tower dates from the 14th century, while the nave was rebuilt after its destruction during the 80 Years' War in 1572. The church was then destroyed by a storm in 1582 and was replaced by a smaller church without a choir in 1610. In its current form, the nave corresponds to the renovation from 1959. The church tower in Oostkapelle offers a good view of Walcheren in suitable weather. After the restoration, the church tower can be climbed again at certain times since summer 2008. Nice bike path, a short stretch without asphalt. The asphalt could be renewed in several places. Nice views.
