This polder mill was fully operational until 1953 and drained the Rodenburgerpolder. The mill was originally built in 1704 but actually dates back to 1893. In that year, lightning struck, the mill burned out and it was rebuilt again. The Rodenburgermolen, popularly called "De Kanaalwegmolen", is inhabited, but it seems that it can be visited by appointment (contrary to what Wikipedia reports). Since 20 September 2016, the mill has been owned by Molenstichting Leiden en Omstreken and has the status of a national monument.

The originally 17th century Buitenplaats Berbice is one of the last remaining country estates in Voorschoten. The country estate, a (summer) residence for wealthy city dwellers, consists of a main house, porter's house, orangery, rose garden, fruit walls and a park. The country estate is owned by the Foundation for the Preservation of Cultural-historical Country Estates and is managed by the foundation and its volunteers.
