The observation tower on the northern shore of Dümmer offers a magnificent covered view of Lake Dümmer, especially the northern part. Cormorants like to dry their wings here, and various species of gulls can also be found here. Overall, the Dümmer, with its surrounding meadows and pastures, is one of the most important habitats for animal and plant species in Lower Saxony. Bird species that have long since disappeared elsewhere still find suitable habitats here.
