Built between 1200 and 1240, the exact date of construction of this Romanesque fieldstone church on a cruciform floor plan is unknown – Ice Age boulders were used locally. St. Crucis features Gothic-style alterations, including the choir apse in the east and the organ loft. Bricks were used for the first time during these construction projects, and these bricks were subsequently used extensively in the Margraviate of Brandenburg during the so-called Brick Gothic period.

The castle chapel is one of the most important medieval sacred buildings in northern Germany. Unfortunately closed.

Built directly with the church

The centrally located village church in Glienecke is a registered monument in the village. It is a Romanesque stone church with a tower with a baroque half-timbered structure. The stone church was built in the late Romanesque style in the 13th century. The building material for the construction of the nave and the choir were ice age boulders, which were hewn square.
