Alwine is a small country house with many possibilities. Located directly on the Spree River, it's a romantic hideaway for those tired of the big city, a base camp for active vacationers, and a stopover for hikers, cyclists, or canoeists. A café, a small, cozy wellness area, and a garden pool await you. And plenty of nature all around. Anyone who just stops by for coffee and cake is warmly welcome.

The agricultural property on the eastern shore of Lake Scharmützelsee was first mentioned in documents in 1851 as "Theresienhof". It originated from a water mill. Well-known private owners included the actress Ernestine Wegner and the Renz circus family. Owned by various companies and institutions since 1918, the "Theresienhof" was used as a recreation and holiday home or training facility. In 2008, the main building, often referred to as a castle, was demolished. The striking villa ("Swedish house") built in 1911 remained.

Nice ambience, exotic cakes, everything very nice, only the friendliness of the service staff leaves something to be desired....

Quaint building nearby is good for swimming.

Well-kept hotel with decent cuisine, including Portuguese cuisine and wines - a bright spot in the JWD.
