Parish Church of St. Leonhard The Leonberg parish church stands prominently and unmistakably in the center of the town, not far from the medieval castle and the so-called New Castle from the late 19th century, and forms the heart of the entire village. At the beginning of the 18th century the congregation had once again outgrown the church. In the course of the necessary conversion work between 1721 and 1734, the church received its current appearance. Together with the baroque vicarage from 1713 and the vicarage from 1719, the church forms the historic town center around Leonhardsplatz. The interior of the parish church appears as a high hall with rounded corners and a flat barrel vault with overhanging window reveals, so-called lunettes. Numerous paintings decorate the ceiling of the church, while several sculptures, various paintings, a pulpit and a painted Stations of the Cross with 14 Stations adorn the church interior. The high altar itself dates from around 1780-1795 and consists of a stately structure with a generous shell decoration in the late Rococo style, which is preceded by a lavish tabernacle. Above this rises a wide, gold-framed niche, which accommodates a figure of the church patron Leonhard with the attributes of chains and a Benedictine crosier. Above each of the pillars sits a large worshiping angel with spread wings, the exodus shows itself as an enthroned creator on a cloud. A large lateral figure stands next to the columns. On the left we see John the Evangelist with his attributes of the eagle and the chalice, the figure on the right could be Bernard of Clairvaux. The side altars are made in the style of the high altar and date from the same period. The left side altar shows the late Gothic Madonna as Queen of Heaven from around 1480, the altar extract is the painting "The Heavenly Coronation of Jesus".
