The Kronach River flows through the market square. An ice cream parlor, the town hall, the bakery, and the church line the square. A Kneipp bath, information boards about the hiking trails, and a bookcase are also located here.

Unfortunately, the ant isn't in particularly good condition anymore. Hopefully, it will be restored soon. Nevertheless, it's still recognizable as an ant and still a good place for a quick detour. It's right on the trail, after all. ^^

The steps to the water were already in place, which is why it was a natural choice to build the Kneipp treatment center here. The neighboring community of Bad Berneck is a recognized Kneipp health resort.

The Kronach flows right through Goldkronach and determines the structure of the market square in this small town with around 3,500 inhabitants. In addition, the "Franconian Line", a geological fault line, runs through the town and delights geologists and mineralologists. Gold has been mined here since the 13th century.
