The two outflows in the north and south flow in different directions and converge again via other river systems near Bamberg. This system turns Franconian Switzerland into an "island."

At the cycle path underpass through the federal highway, a small, mostly gravel path branches off to the bird watching station at Craimoosweiher, about 150 m away. From there you can see almost the entire pond and watch the birds. It is particularly beautiful at sunset when the setting sun is reflected in the water.

I think the source is beautifully prepared and does credit to the Main. Compared to other river sources, such as the Lahn, one source can be clearly seen here. No one can say exactly which rivulets that flow together somewhere eventually form the Main. Thank God it was set that way in the past and that's a good thing.
