In 1627, Baltasar Raubacher (also known as Rankenbacher) built a chapel in honor of the Holy Blood next to his Schwaige Geiselgasteig "ex voto in dangerous illness". The altar bears the year 1735, the bell the year 1632. Ecclesiastically, the "Schwaige Geiselgasteig" originally belonged to the parish of Bogenhausen, later to the parish of Neudeck (Munich-Au), since 1827 to Hl. Kreuz, Giesing, and since 1913 to the parish of Oberhaching, Kuratie Grünwald. Traditional restaurant with beer garden and now also a hotel in the hamlet of the same name belonging to the municipality of Grünwald. Reopened in 2019 and worth a visit. Despite or perhaps because of its location in the Perlacher/Grünwalder Forest, the Forsthaus is well connected to the Munich "skater network". There are decent asphalt paths leading here from Grünwald, Straßlach and from the direction of Kugler Alm/Taufkirchen/Oberhaching. http://forsthaus-woernbrunn.com

Be sure to visit the castle while you're there and the gates are open. In addition to the archaeological museum, the castle also offers a free tour of the preserved buildings (thanks to the Free State) and a replica of a historic blacksmith's shop (thanks to energetic, selfless citizens).

Grünwald Castle is one of the few real medieval castles still preserved around Munich. The castle was once significantly larger, but was then damaged by a landslide on the high bank of the Isar. The castle gained notoriety as the starting point of the Counter-Reformation because the Bavarian rulers, who had previously acted cautiously, met there and decided that Bavaria should remain Catholic despite the church's completely damaged reputation.

The Georgenstein, formerly Georgstein or Georgenfels, is a large boulder in the river bed of the Isar east of Baierbrunn in the district of Munich, which protrudes around five meters high out of the water. The stone represented a feared obstacle at the time of rafting on the Isar. On the rock itself there is an image of Saint George at the top. 👍
