A small but beautiful mountain lake, shimmering in a stunning turquoise blue and standing out against the surrounding rocks. While still quite cold in summer, it offers a refreshing dip after the strenuous climb. However, this should be done with respect for nature, as this is not a swimming lake but a valuable habitat within the national park. A few meters away, you can still see the ruins of the Seeleinalm.

The 2276-meter-high Schneibstein has two summit crosses because it lies precisely on the border between Germany and Austria. The summit is a spacious plateau, perfect for a break and admiring the mountain scenery. It is easily accessible, yet far less crowded than the nearby Jenner.

There's no summit register here. There's a digital summit register on the Jenner, but it doesn't work if you don't have signal. Subsequent entries aren't possible because your GPS location is requested when entering the information.

Spacious, paid parking lot with numerous spaces at reasonable prices and a good starting point for numerous hikes!
