The Schneibstein has two summit crosses - the tour to the Schneibstein leads to the easiest two-thousand-meter peaks in the Berchtesgaden Alps.

The starting point of the tour on the easiest two-thousanders in the Berchtesgaden Alps is the Hinterbrand car park. The path leads in the direction of the Jennerbahn middle station. After approx. 15 minutes the path branches off to the left in the direction of the Stahlhaus. After about an hour of walking you reach the Mitterkaser Alm at 1530 meters. After another hour you will reach the Carl von Stahl House at an altitude of 1734 meters. Here you cross the Torrener Joch and walk in a south-easterly direction to the mountain foot of the Schneibstein. The path leads first steeply through thick mountain pines to the edge of the Teufelsgemäuer and then on over the gentle ridge to the summit of the Schneibstein at 2276 meters. From the summit you have a wonderful view of the lonely rock wilderness of the Hagengebirge. The descent leads via the ascent path.

On the way to the summit (coming from Seeleinsee) we heard marmots whistle and saw chamois and ibex - and enjoyed a wonderful view on the Schneibstein itself!

Also very nice to hike with a dog (if he is used to the rocky ground and is really good on foot).

Awesome panorama with marmots, ibex and chamois on the descent to the cold Seeleinsee. Feasible with a fit dog for larger jumps. For the small Reibn tour with 19 km we were on the road for 10 hours with breaks. Start at times!

Between Schneibstein and Seleinsee you can easily find yourself in the middle of the mountain pine field. The path goes along the left edge (direction Seleinsee) of the mountain pines.

Try to evade wet conditions during the rain or day after, terrain is rocky and can be slippery, quite exhausting but rewarding when you get to the top. Trail can be quite busy, sunny day on weekend you can find yourself with at least 200 people on that hill :)
Although people going there with their kids, so you don't need to worry to much, climb carefully, stay safe, respect the mountain.

Even at 2276 meters, the Schneibstein is very easy to hike.
From the Schneibstein or Carl-von-Stahl Haus, the hike goes steeply uphill over narrow paths and rocky terrain. In the morning or when wet, the stones are quite slippery.

Awesome view over the Alps and a relatively easy summit if you take the Jennerbahn up. Tip: "Kleine Grater" over the Seeleinsee, a beautiful, secluded mountain lake with few visitors.

Schneibstein can be done in about 2.5 hours round trip from the Stahlhaus. Nice views at the top! :)

A beautiful round over the Schneibstein over the Windscharte and Seeleinsee back to Hinterbrand. The length of the route, especially in the heat, should not be underestimated. Always beautiful and in every season.

Great peak, not easy, but manageable if you are fit. Make sure you have proper hiking boots, the pathway is very rocky, with some light climbing

Flat mountain peak that is easy and quick to reach. The view is outstanding, from Watzmann Berchtesgaden and Hohem Göll over Hochkönig and Steinernes Meer is unparalleled. The nearby Stahlhaus and Schneibsteinhaus offer catering and overnight accommodation.
