The Lenggrieser Hütte was a good starting point for our upcoming tours, friendly and helpful staff, the food is plentiful and served super quickly, when I think of the portion of Kaiserschmarren, which I can only recommend to everyone.

The Geierstein is one of the most worthwhile destinations in the area. From Lenggries, the (now well-marked) trail 611 leads to the summit. In the lower part, it goes through the forest, then there are beautiful views of the Isar valley, and at the top it becomes rockier. In summer, numerous butterflies can be found in the summit area. The crossing, including the Fockenstein and the Aueralm (no matter which direction) is a classic.
