The Lenggrieser Hütte was a good starting point for our upcoming tours, friendly and helpful staff, the food is plentiful and served super quickly, when I think of the portion of Kaiserschmarren, which I can only recommend to everyone.

The Lenggrieser Hut is located at an altitude of 1,338 meters, directly above Lenggries. A great place to stop off, which is a worthwhile destination not only in conjunction with a summit climb. From the terrace you already have a great view of the Karwendel.

If you still have energy and want to continue hiking, you can reach the Seekarkreuz or the Grasleitenkopf in a relatively short time. The best way to get to the hut itself is via the Sulzersteig. Incidentally, the hut is also a popular destination for ski tourers and snowshoe hikers in winter.

As an Alpine Club hut, the Lenggrieser Hut is open all year round. The earlier day of rest no longer exists in summer. The offer includes changing, wholesome meals, such as various Bavarian delicacies from regional sources, from roast pork to bacon dumplings to potato soup. The interior is solidly and rustically designed. There is a large terrace on the southern gable side. In addition to the main building, there are several outbuildings. Overnight stays are possible in multi-bed dormitories. Sleeping bags, slippers and towels must be brought with you.

... many paths lead to the destination (in May/June 2021). This also applies to the "Lenggrieser Hütte" at 1,338 m. The path from Bad Wiesee is a bit long. There and back around 25 km (= a bit more than a half marathon); if you're dynamic, you can complete the route (easy) in around 2 1/4 hours. From Lenggries the path, around 17 km there and back, is challenging. Because it goes uphill very dynamically. The path can be done in 2 hours (easy) (via the "Grasleitensteig"). Either way, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view when you get there. The food and drink are more than delicious, the prices are reasonable and the portions and quality are great. In other words: Spinach dumplings, Swiss sausage salad, Kaiserschmarr’n or apple pie (on May 25th, 2021, June 3rd, 2021, November 19th, 2021, October 15th, 2023 and October 25th, 2024). The hut is a visual jewel inside: the guest room and bar area are very attractive, the toilets are clean, new and beautiful. If you are a bit lazy, you can also go up on a mountain bike; but please find out exactly which way to go. :-) Speaking of which: you can also stay overnight on site (approx. 24 euros). The little "rabbit's foot": unfortunately there are only 7 different sized camps with a total of 48 places. Bring your sleeping bag and slippers. Breakfast (buffet style) costs 13.50 euros. - Text first written in June 2021 and updated in October 2024. PS: current menu: see tour from October 25, 2024. Drinks (both): "around" 4.50 euros.

Great renovated DAV hut; great innkeeper, great food; Accessible in practically any weather/snow condition. Highly recommended mountain boots for the Graleitensteig. Easy via the road / Hirschbachtal.

The Lenggrieser Hut is a beautiful tour destination below the Seekarspitze. It is open almost all year round and is therefore popular in every season. The climb from Lenggries is not too long, but relatively steep for the altitude and not that easy. This means that the path is never boring and the effort is always rewarded at the hut.
