The chapel was built in 1710. The two saints of the chapel in Böserscheidegg are popular folk saints of the Catholic Church. St. Catherine helps with migraines and other illnesses. She defends Christian values against "learned unbelief": St. Anthony is invoked when one has lost something and is desperately searching for it. The Allgäu folklore says: Holy Anthony, you brave man, I've lost something, bring me here! Feast days: November 25 (Catherine) and June 13 (Antonius)

This chapel stands at the entrance to Böserscheidegg (not in Forst near the Alpine outdoor pool!), coming from Scheidegg. Built in 1710 St. Catherine helps with migraines and other illnesses. She defends Christian values against "learned unbelief": Commemoration days: November 25 (Catherine) and June 13 (Anthony) The two saints of the chapel in Böserscheidegg are popular folk saints of the Catholic Church. Built here in Schalkenried in 1622 as a plague chapel, it is one of the oldest and smallest chapels in Scheidegg. The carving on the front door admonishes "Pray without ceasing". If you want to enter through the low door, you have to bend down. It's cramped inside the St. Martina Chapel. Some of the carved saints are said to have six fingers instead of five.
