The "Moser Houses" and the Upper Gate Tower - landmarks of the city of Monheim The "Moser Houses" are residential and commercial buildings built between the 15th and 16th centuries. The houses owe their name to the widow Moser, who ran a grocery store in these rooms. The Moser Houses are adjacent to the Upper Gate / Donauwörth Gate and are built in the Franconian half-timbered style. Monheim is a wonderfully quiet town. It is also called the 3 tribes town because the 3 administrative districts of Swabia, Upper Bavaria and Middle Franconia meet here. The church is worth seeing and in the tourist information office on the market square there is a charging cabinet for e-bike batteries. Don't forget the power adapter. 👍

The former Benedictine monastery was founded around 870. The first small church was also built during this time. In 893, parts of the bones of Saint Walburga were donated to the monastery and Monheim became a popular pilgrimage site. It is usually open during the day.

A beautiful former monastery church and today parish church. The former Benedictine convent was founded in 870. In 893 Monheim received relics of St. Walburga. Soon afterwards Monheim became one of the most important places of pilgrimage in Europe. The current building dates from the late Gothic period, the north portal of the church has the year 1509. The interior, however, is baroque in style. In 1596 the vault was retracted in its current form.
