The predecessor of the church in Hergensweiler is a stone church built in 1108, of which the tower substructure is still preserved today. The current building was built in 1712. Inside the baroque building you can see a beautiful ceiling fresco and carved Stations of the Cross.

On October 5, 1108, the Constance Bishop Gebhard III consecrated. the first stone church in Hergensweiler. The tower substructure has been preserved from her. Today's baroque church dates from 1712. It is about twice as large as the previous building. St. Ambrosius is a hall church with a choir closed on three sides. The square tower stands on the north side of the easternmost nave yoke. The baroque furnishings are almost completely preserved.
