On October 5, 1108, the Constance Bishop Gebhard III consecrated. the first stone church in Hergensweiler. The tower substructure has been preserved from her. Today's baroque church dates from 1712. It is about twice as large as the previous building.
St. Ambrosius is a hall church with a choir closed on three sides. The square tower stands on the north side of the easternmost nave yoke.
The baroque furnishings are almost completely preserved.
