Ottensoos is a municipality in the district of Nürnberger Land in central Franconia.

The place was first mentioned in a document from the year 903 by King Ludwig the Child, who gave Ottensoos, together with Sendelbach and an unspecified Teorinhova, to the Regensburg monastery of Sankt Emmeram. However, the place lying above the southern bank of the Pegnitz was inhabited earlier, as recent finds show. In the 11th century, Bishop Gundekar II of Eichstätt (1057–1075) consecrated the altar of the Church of St. Vitus to give the site a more important function. Initially a branch of Offenhausen, St. Veit became a parish in the 14th century. At the end of the 15th century, a late medieval hall church with three naves was added to the older choir tower. A fourth ship followed in 1507. The church was expanded into a fortified church with a partially double ring wall and is the center of the town with a fortified cemetery. Source: Wikipedia
