People in the past knew why you had to mark your territory and why you had to demarcate it :-) A great place with a lot of history - if this stone could tell you who had already passed by, it would probably need more than just a book. It's great to be able to take a break in a place like this (there's a bench) and to realise how old this stone is and that it has survived all the wars unscathed - I like that sort of thing.
