District boundary pillar from 1840. Here is one of many find in the forest findable boundary pillars of the royal Bavarian districts Fischbach, Forsthof and Laufamholz. The forest hammers are easy to recognize. With this sovereign badge, the foresters marked each felled tree to prevent wood theft.

In 1840/41 a forest facility was set up in the Reichswald (including the Lorenzer Reichswald) to determine the condition of the forest. In the course of this, the district boundary pillars distributed throughout the forest were created.
