A beautiful lake for swimming in the summer. Unfortunately it is next to the motorway, but it is located on various hiking trails.

In the 1970s, a disagreement about where the Tauber actually originates reached its peak: in Wettringen in Bavaria or near Weikersholz in Baden-Württemberg? Since the Klingenbrunnen east of Weikersholz in the municipality of Rot am See is the highest continuously flowing spring, it has been considered the actual origin of the Tauber since 1976. Oh well. The competition wrestlers also argue that a bubbling trickle is the source of the dew. Interesting reason: the Tauber spring further northwest, which feeds the Tauberseen, runs dry now and then, but the Wettringer never. Decide for yourself. Or visit both sources 😁😂

That should be the only real source of deafness. However, this is a headwaters area with a few springs and streams, which afterwards all together form the Tauber. You can look it up on the display board here. It is probably like the Altmühl, there are also some quarries arguing about the title, one was officially determined (arbitrarily).
