The present parish church was built in 1900, after the previous church was closed in 1898 due to dilapidation and – with the exception of the tower – demolished.

Pfarkirche St.Agatha in Aidenbach

Aidenbach is a market in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau as well as the seat of the administrative community Aidenbach and a state-approved resort. The place is known from the Battle of Aidenbach in 1706, which broke the last resistance of the revolting Bavarian peasants against the imperial Habsburg occupation.

The church was built in the 12th century, the first church consecration took place at the beginning of the 13th century. The Maria Himmmelfahrt church has been rebuilt a total of five times since it was built. In 1617 the old choir was demolished and a new one was built
