The climb leads through a beautiful jungle section. Very slippery when it rains. When you're almost at the top, the recommended path leads to the right into the bushes. After half an hour it ends. Be sure to continue straight on the other hiking trail.

Prepare to go under a cow fence through a private pasture and up a very challenging forested downhill mountain bike path. It is steep and looser gravel for about a mile. This area is not as well marked with the commonly seen red and yellow flashes between miles 6 and 8.

A very beautiful mill, located very close to Ajuda da Brittany. The museum is not open to visitors all year round, but it is possible to appreciate its exterior at any time. It dates back to the 19th century and is one of the few Dutch-style buildings still on the island of São Miguel.
