Lonely and quiet plateau between the peaks. The Wildschönauer Höhenweg, which leads back from here in a long loop, is very worthwhile.

The Gratlspitze is Alpbach's local mountain. The striking mountain rises directly above Alpbach's many wooden houses. It is actually not a single peak, but a yoke with several peaks. Seen from below, the mountain seems invincible - the rocks in the summit area are so steep. The hike is not that extreme, but can be viewed as moderately difficult. However, sure-footedness and a head for heights are necessary in the summit area. Three main routes lead from the Alpbachtal up to the summit. Depending on your preference, you can vary the route or turn it into a circular hike.

We climbed from Kelchsau to the summit. The ridge path to the Schwaigberghorn is recommended. We didn't encounter any other hikers on our way up, which was very relaxing compared to other very crowded spots.
