This bridleway is part of the Cotswolds Way and regularly used by walkers, bikers and bikers. Riding up is only fun in the dry, it's quite slippy during the winter months! Descending is fun any time. The views are stunning, it's not one to rush.

Dyrham Park is a baroque English country house in an ancient deer park near the village of Dyrham in South Gloucestershire, England.

I prefer this as a descent even though it's dark through the woods. I nearly crashed into a rider in the middle of the road even with markings, so please don't think this is an empty road for climbing, it's busier than most of the other climbs around here. The surface is better than Sands Hill, Dodington and Cock lane which tend to be my preferred climbs into the Wolds.

Gradient gradually increases through Hinton. The steeper section starts as you pass the Bull Inn (to your left as you climb), it's about 400m of narrow Lane, 10-12% gradient. Not too onerous but sufficient to get your attention. Sweeping views at the top towards the Welsh Hills (on a clear day).

A variety of surfaces... really good fun.

A mixture of surfaces, from concrete to gravel either side of the ford. Go on... you can do the ford... what's the worse that could happen? (Apparently there's a much dryer alternative).

One of the easier "big climbs" in the Cotswolds, harder than Dodington though. The difficulties are fairly short lived but the climbing continues for a fair while after you think you've topped out.

High point on the Cotswold Way just before the descent into Bath begins. From here out it's a gradual decline into the city, though the views remain spectacular as you go down

Dyrham Park (/ˈdɪrəm/) is a baroque country house in an ancient deer park near the village of Dyrham in South Gloucestershire, England. The house, attached orangery, stable block and accompanying parish church are Grade I listed buildings, while the park is Grade II* listed on the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. The current house was built for William Blathwayt in stages during the 17th and early 18th centuries on the site of a previous manor house, with the final facade being designed by William Talman. It contains art works and furniture from around the world, particularly Holland, and includes a collection of Dutch Masters. The house is linked to the 13th-century church of St Peter, where many of the Blathwayt family are buried. The house is surrounded by 274 acres (111 ha) of formal gardens, and parkland which supports a herd of fallow deer. Hit around 20% incline at its peak. Good burner on way to castle coombe

Poor road surface, but great views. Manageable initially then a steep straight section before joining Hinton hill, but then it's the worst done! Probably prefer Hinton hill to the north or Sands hill to the south (all parallel/alternate climbs), definitely hinton for descending.

Good twisty climb with steep pinches at the turnings, wouldn't descend it though, you'll have more fun down Hinton. Slippery surface.

Prospect Stile affords wonderful views over Kelston Roundhill and right across Somerset. In clear conditions, views stretch as far as the Black Mountains in Wales. There is a bench here to take in the breathtaking vista.
