The switchbacks on the Törlkopf lead uphill in smooth curves, making the ascent to the Rax easier. As you gain altitude, beautiful views of the valley and the surrounding mountains open up again and again. A typical section of the Törlweg, it makes the trail varied and enjoyable.

At the Törlweg gorge, the trail leads impressively up through a narrow rocky gully toward the Rax Plateau. This passage exudes a true alpine flair and makes the ascent varied and exciting. A striking landmark along the trail, it's a memorable stopover.

From the lakeside path, a particularly beautiful view of the Rax opens up. Across forests and meadows, you can see the striking rock faces and the expansive plateau of the mountain range. A panorama that impressively captures the character of Vienna's local mountains and invites you to pause for a moment.

The Otto-Haus on the Rax (1,640 m) is one of the most traditional huts in Vienna's local mountains. It offers a cozy stop with regional delicacies and a large sun terrace. From here, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama across the Rax plateau to the peaks of the surrounding Alps—a perfect starting point or rest stop for your tour.
