At the Preinerwand Cross (1,783 m), you reach one of the most striking vantage points in the Rax. From here, the view extends far over the Vienna Basin, the surrounding valleys, and, on a clear day, all the way to the peaks of the Alps. The Otto-Haus on the Rax (1,640 m) is one of the most traditional huts in Vienna's local mountains. It offers a cozy stop with regional delicacies and a large sun terrace. From here, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama across the Rax plateau to the peaks of the surrounding Alps—a perfect starting point or rest stop for your tour.

You can get up here via the Haid Steig, among others, and enjoy the view. Early in the year you shouldn't underestimate the snow fields on the descent, then it's better to go back down via the via ferrata.
